Introduction
Founded in Dublin in 1999, EPS Global is the SDDC (Software-Defined Data Center) Distributor of choice globally for IT, Consumer & Retail, BFSI, Government & Defense, Media & Broadcast, Lifesciences and Utilities industries, providing best-in-class solutions through their Open Compute-approved suppliers.
EPS Global have the warehousing facilities and logistics experience to provide stock availability in their 3 distribution hubs worldwide, minimizing lead times and enabling single shipments thus eliminating the hassle of sourcing from multiple vendors. The company have local language and currency support in each of their 28 global locations, allowing their customers to consolidate their procurement of Software-Defined infrastructure regardless of their location.
The challenge
EPS Global required a B2B online platform, with eCommerce, to replace its previous website, as well as ongoing support and maintenance post-delivery of the website. Specifically declared objectives were to:
- create a scalable B2B E-Commerce Platform with an easy-to-use, searchable database of products (by part number, product category, product attributes)
- reduce admin/order fulfilment time and cost by providing B2B Account Management online
- integrate with EPS’s ERP system (Sage Line 1000)
- increase website sales revenue
- increase lead conversion rate
- increase SEO rank
- increase visitor numbers
- provide regional versions of website in English, Chinese, Portuguese, German & Russian.
The solution
After a detailed discovery process identifying not only the conversion process but also the fulfilment activities required to support the commercial operation, Continuum designed and built an eCommerce solution built on a KENTICO licenced content management system. This choice allowed for back-end integrations into the account management, pricing, finance and logistics systems already in operation, while providing a top class eCommerce engine with enhanced search & filter capabilities.
Continuum mapped the eCommerce user journey for a variety of identified potential customers and built high-fidelity wire-frames to prototype and test those journeys. After concepts were developed and approved the design specification was created and submitted, along with the technical specification, to the development team for execution, integration and QA.
